Joint Bridges between Alnoor University and the University of Duhok for Cooperation in Cultural Heritage Preservation and Archaeological Research

At the kind invitation of Professor Dr. Dawood Suleiman Al-Atrushi, President of the University of Duhok, a joint delegation from Alnoor University and the Lamasu Cultural Organization met with specialists at the Presidency of the University of Duhok. The discussions focused on prospects for future cooperation in the fields of archaeological research and cultural heritage preservation.
The discussions focused on the implementation of joint academic activities in the fields of archaeology and cultural studies, and on enhancing cross-regional cooperation for the documentation and preservation of Iraq’s tangible and intangible heritage.
The participants expressed their mutual interest in launching workshops, exhibitions, and student exchange activities, aiming to connect the rich archaeological heritage of the cities of Mosul and Duhok.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Dilshad Abduljabbar Haleem, Assistant President of the University of Duhok for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Dr. Zhiyar Sadiq Ramadan, Head of the Department of Archaeology at the College of Humanities; Dr. Nabeel Nooruddin, Director of the Al-Noor Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation at Al-Noor University; Dr. Omar Jassam, President of the Lamassu Organization; Dr. Hind Fakhri, Advisor to the organization; along with a number of archaeologists who are members of the organization.
