About the Department
The Digital Media Department was established in response to the market's need for graduates specializing in electronic media, meeting the highest global quality standards. This comes in light of the enormous transformations in communication technology and the growing reliance on digital media, which has become a vital component in supporting comprehensive and sustainable development by utilizing creative and innovative capacities to improve society. Through its widespread presence and diverse applications, digital media plays a crucial role in the exchange of information, news, opinions, and influencing public opinion across various fields of media, including journalism, radio and television broadcasting, and public relations. The department grants a Bachelor's degree in Digital Media after the student completes a comprehensive academic program in line with global quality standards, keeping pace with rapid global developments, and training media professionals in the arts of editing, directing, and designing in diverse digital environments.
Objectives of the Department
Contributing to the formation of professional journalists who possess knowledge, communication technology skills, and sufficient practical experience to work in various modern and advanced media environments. Building outstanding media capabilities in the field of new media by enhancing students' creative and innovative abilities. Enriching the media landscape in Iraq, especially in the city of Mosul, with journalists who have the vision and ability to deliver media content that aligns with the future aspirations for comprehensive and sustainable development. Improving leadership and entrepreneurship skills, embracing new entrepreneurial projects, and establishing non-traditional forms of journalistic, radio, television, and modern public relations work.

Digital media has a contemporary scientific vision in light of the enormous global developments in communication technology, which have been accompanied by shifts and changes in the forms and content of written, audio, and audiovisual media. These changes have led to fundamental transformations in traditional media pathways, shifting towards digital media that aligns with the digital environment and the new global media landscape. As a result, the development of knowledge and the building of media capacities for human resources, particularly media specialists, and keeping up with societal changes in all their dimensions, has become an essential requirement dictated by the pillars of modern sustainable development.
