The College of Arts at Alnoor University is organizing a workshop on digital technologies in translation
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Yassin Taha Alhajjar, President of Al-Nour University, the College of Arts at Alnoor University organized, on the morning of Sunday, December 7, 2025, a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Digital Technologies in Translation – Machine Translation and Human Translator Skills”. This initiative is part of the college’s efforts to keep pace with the latest developments in the fields of translation and language. The workshop was supervised and delivered by Assistant Lecturer Abdulrahman Nasser Abdulrazzaq, a faculty member of the Translation Department at the College of Arts. During the workshop, he addressed the key concepts related to machine translation, its system types, and operational mechanisms, in addition to highlighting the fundamental differences between human translation and AIbased translation. The workshop also covered the most important skills that human translators should possess in light of the dominance of digital technologies, emphasizing the need to develop both linguistic and technical competencies to ensure translation accuracy and quality. The workshop was attended by the administrative and scientific assistants to the University President, the Dean of the College of Arts, the University’s Scientific Advisor, and a number of faculty members and students of the college, who engaged with its topics through discussions and interventions, underscoring the importance of such workshops in enhancing their academic and practical expertise and connecting the discipline with global developments in the field of translation.
