The Electronic Governance Complex in the city of Mosul witnessed a ceremony marking the launch and signing of the book Camera Biography: Photographic Narratives
The Electronic Governance Complex hosted a ceremony marking the launch and signing of the book Camera Biography: Photographic Narratives, attended by an elite audience led by Fabrice Debloshan, along with a number of academics and intellectuals.
During the event, the pivotal institutional role of Alnoor University was highlighted as the supporting and sponsoring body for the book’s production and final release. The university’s direct support contributed to completing all executive aspects of its publication, ensuring a fully integrated work that combines high artistic and linguistic quality.
Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Zuhair Zaidan, Director of Cultural Relations at Alnoor University, undertook the translation of the book into French, reflecting a commitment to presenting this cultural achievement to the Francophone world and strengthening the presence of Mosul’s literary and artistic output on the international stage. This added a communicative dimension to the work, showcasing the university’s openness to global cultural partnerships.
The event was also attended by Dr. Nabil Nour Aldin Hussein, Director of the Alnoor Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation at the university, whose presence underscored the integration of efforts among the university’s institutions in supporting projects that preserve both tangible and intangible heritage, and in promoting initiatives that document the city’s cultural memory through a contemporary scientific and artistic vision.
This achievement, realized through joint collaboration between the French Iraqi Cultural Institute, Fajr Al-Hadbaa Foundation, the Electronic Governance Complex, and Alnoor University, presents an honorable image of Mosul’s literary and artistic production. It brings together the lens of the artist Anwar Aldarwish with the texts of Professor Dr. Ahmed Jarallah, in three global languages: Arabic, French, and English.
For his part, Fabrice Debloshan expressed his great admiration for the work, emphasizing that it represents a valuable addition to the French library, which lacks publications introducing Iraqi literature and art. The book thus serves as a cultural bridge that enhances the presence of local identity in international forums—an objective that Alnoor University consistently seeks to achieve through its support of creative initiatives in the city.
