A faculty member from Alnoor University chairs a master's thesis defense committee at the University of Mosul
Within the framework of academic cooperation among universities and the promotion of joint scientific activity in Nineveh Governorate, Professor Dr. Shaalan Kamel Ismail, a faculty member in the Department of Archaeological Tourism at the College of Arts, Alnoor University, chaired the master’s thesis defense committee of the student Ammar Fathi Talib. The thesis was submitted to the Department of Archaeology, College of Archaeology, University of Mosul, under the title (Egypt in Assyrian Writings). The defense was held in the presence of a specialized academic committee, along with a number of faculty members and researchers. The thesis examined the image of Egypt in Assyrian texts through an analysis of royal inscriptions and cuneiform records that documented military campaigns and political relations between the Assyrian state and Egypt during the first millennium BCE. It also addressed the political and propagandistic dimensions of Assyrian royal discourse, while comparing textual data with archaeological and historical evidence. The participation of a faculty member from Alnoor University in chairing a defense committee at the University of Mosul reflects the depth of academic collaboration and the exchange of research expertise, particularly in the field of Mesopotamian civilization studies and its regional relations.
