Alnoor University discusses in London enhancing scientific and cultural cooperation with British institutions
As part of Alnoor University’s strategy aimed at expanding its international partnerships and engaging with global academic institutions, Dr. Nabil Nour Aldin Hussein, Director of Alnoor Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation and Assistant Dean of the College of Arts, conducted an official visit to the United Kingdom for the period from April 18 to 21 of the current month to discuss prospects for joint scientific and cultural cooperation with a number of British institutions.
The visit began with an official meeting between Dr. Nabil Nour Aldin Hussein and Prof. Dr. Qusay Alahmadi, the cultural attaché at the Iraqi Embassy in London. During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen academic exchange and develop mechanisms of cooperation between Alnoor University and its counterparts in British universities and research centers. They also examined the challenges that may face this cooperation and worked on overcoming them to ensure its sustainability.
During the meeting, the Cultural Attaché was briefed on the most prominent activities of Alnoor University in the fields of archaeological tourism and cultural heritage preservation, in addition to reviewing the university’s strategic plans aimed at revitalizing archaeological and heritage sites in Iraq and preparing them to become active tourist attractions that contribute to supporting the national economy and promoting sustainable development.
The visit included a series of meetings and exploratory tours that focused on examining potential areas of cooperation with the British Museum, as well as a number of academic institutions specializing in heritage preservation and management, in addition to Arabic-language media organizations in London.
These initiatives aim to establish practical foundations for organizing joint training and research programs targeting students and faculty members of Alnoor University, particularly in the fields of archaeological tourism and digital media. This would contribute to transferring international expertise and adapting it to the local context, while enhancing the competence of both academic staff and students alike.
At the conclusion of the meeting with the Cultural Attaché, Dr. Nabil Noor Aldin Hussein presented the University of Alnoor shield to Professor Dr. Qusay Alahmadi, as an expression of the university’s appreciation for his role in supporting pathways of academic and cultural cooperation and in strengthening bridges of communication between Iraqi and British educational institutions.
