Alnoor University Launches the First Volunteer Psychological First Aid Team Through the Department of Clinical Psychology
As the only Clinical Psychology Department in Mosul, the Department of Clinical Psychology at the College of Arts, Alnoor University, has launched the First Aid Psychological Support Volunteer Team as part of its ongoing activities. This initiative reflects Alnoor University's commitment to promoting mental health and serving the community. The department has also commenced the first training course for team members, aiming to equip students with the scientific knowledge and practical skills required to provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) in accordance with internationally recognized principles. The program also seeks to prepare participants to contribute effectively to humanitarian response efforts during crises and emergencies. The training course began on Saturday, July 18, 2026, and will continue for three months, with two training sessions per week. Participants receive specialized instruction under the supervision of a distinguished group of experts in mental health and psychological counseling. This initiative reflects Alnoor University's dedication to preparing a new generation of students capable of promoting a culture of psychological support and volunteerism. Team members are expected to serve as mental health ambassadors within the university and the wider community, contributing to community well-being and strengthening preparedness to respond to various humanitarian situations.
