On the sidelines of the Alnoor University delegation's visit to The British Museum in London, and as a continuation of the meetings held during the visit and the museum officials' keen interest in the University's experience in preserving cultural heritage and civilizational legacy, Professor Dr. Ismail Abdulwahab, Assistant President of Alnoor University for Scientific Affairs, delivered a lecture the following day highlighting the University's most prominent activities, initiatives, and achievements in this field.

The lecture also highlighted Alnoor University's role in supporting heritage preservation efforts in Nineveh Governorate, particularly those related to the cultural legacy of the city of Mosul and other areas across the governorate. It further showcased the university's academic and cultural initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the importance of safeguarding historical identity and preserving the region's civilizational memory for future generations.

The Assistant to the President for Scientific Affairs also highlighted the experience of Baytuna Foundation for Culture, Arts and Heritage as the University's cultural arm, showcasing its activities, initiatives, and projects dedicated to documenting and revitalizing the cultural heritage of Mosul and Nineveh. He further emphasized the Foundation's role in supporting cultural, artistic, and heritage events while strengthening the connection between academic work and community efforts aimed at safeguarding cultural heritage.

The experience of Alnoor University and Baytuna Foundation also received considerable attention during the meeting, particularly in light of the historical and cultural significance of Nineveh and Mosul. The province is home to a rich Assyrian, Islamic, and Christian heritage, as well as a diverse cultural mosaic that constitutes an essential part of the historical memory of both Iraq and humanity.

This lecture follows the visit of Alnoor University's delegation to the British Museum and forms part of the University's efforts to build bridges of cooperation with international institutions specializing in archaeology, cultural heritage, and museums. It aims to support the University's Archaeological Tourism program while opening new avenues for academic and research collaboration, the exchange of expertise in heritage preservation, documentation, and management, and the promotion of Iraq's cultural heritage on the global stage.
